ENDOWED PROGRAMMATIC SCHOLARSHIP
Tying into our national program “Go to High School, Go to College,” we will commemorate our 105th Charter Anniversary and impact on both the broader Los Angeles and local USC campus community, by having pledged a $300,000 endowed scholarship through the USC CBCSA and we need your help to make that happen!
Endowed Programmatic Scholarship Includes:
Black Graduation: For thirty-one years, the USC Black Graduation Celebration has served as a traditional rite of passage that recognizes and affirms students of the African Diaspora who have completed a rigorous journey through academia at the University of Southern California. This highly anticipated celebration unites students, families, and friends through culture and achievement. Expect to see keynotes, performances, and much more. In 2024, 500 Black graduates participated in the ceremony and 5500 people were in attendance. Alpha Phi Alpha would be recognized as an annual co-sponsor for this amazing event. Please see the video link above!
Black Men Will Summit: A collaboration with Counseling and Mental health that focuses on the experiences of Black men at USC. This conference style event has workshops and panels connecting students to one another as well as some great speakers.
My Journey Series: The purpose of the “My Journey Series” is to connect Black students to faculty, staff, alumni and community partners on campus. The goal is through the sharing of the presenters' “story,” our students will strengthen their sense of belonging in the Black community as well as USC community. In addition, each presenter has an opportunity to identify critical resources to enhance our students’ success on campus. The initiative can aid undergraduate through doctoral level students within any college or discipline.
